Once you have decided to start your quest to be your best you, it’s important that you devise a plan as you want action and “A goal without a plan is just a dream!”. One of the biggest things to keep in mind is that true results come from lifestyle change! “Diets” and going into “Beast Mode” are fine if you want to lose a couple of pounds to get into a dress or look your best for an upcoming event. But, once you go back to your “normal” way of eating you will gain the weight back and often times even more!
Let’s take a look at the word “Diet” too many people speak about going on or being on a diet as if it’s this thing that you do. Diet is not a verb, it’s not an action. Diet is a noun. It is something that you own. Something that you live by. I do not go on “diets” but, I do normally eat a clean and healthy diet...get it? A healthy body starts in the kitchen. If you exercise but eat terribly you will never fully reach you body composition potential. In retrospect you can not just eat well but not exercise if you want to have muscle tone, strong bones, endurance, flexibility and exceptional heart health; the list of advantages to adopting a regular exercise routine is endless. Those who eat well but don’t work out are usually what I call skinny phat; as in they may not be overweight but are flabby and exhibit low endurance upon physical exertion.
Switching from a sedentary lifestyle and watching what you eat can be challenging. The best way to go about changing your lifestyle is to have a clear view of what it is that you want to achieve, starting slowly to avoid burnout and consulting with a fitness or accountability coach for the results you desire.
