As I have found my Phyt, I’ve realized the times that I am most happy in life are the days that I really get it in at the gym, have a refreshing run, go to the spa, get a good night's sleep, or eat really healthfully all day. On the flip side the days I feel the most down are the ones where I have over indulged on fatty or sweet foods, haven't gotten any structured physical activity, and hunny it takes me at least two days to recover from having just a few cocktails.
Our bodies rely on and adjust to our habits. When you get your daily recommended servings of fruit and veggies your cravings will be for salads and other light fare, when you get up every day and head straight to the gym a missed workout will actually feel like torture. When I call myself having a day off and lounge around then eat whatever, man oh man my body screams "WTF"!
Now I'm not perfect. Some days I'm in need of that double chocolate chip cookie. Immediately after and sometimes in the midst of feeding my craving I start to feel real bad mentally and physically. My mind starts thinking about how I am undoing all my hard work, my tummy hurts, if I go too far I have gastrointestinal problems, and I'm down because I have just done to myself what I am preaching against.
Then I straighten myself up, head back in for the workout, have a grilled chicken salad, get some rest and I'm back to jovial me again...it's then that I know that the best thing I have done to achieve optimal health and happiness is find my Phyt!
